Now that the cold nights are drawing why not invest in a luxuriously interlined door curtain to keep the chilly night air away. As well as being totally practical helping to insulate the home and keep fuel bills door curtains add another layer of interest to any interior scheme.

Portiere Rods can be attached to internal or external doors and have a hinged bracket which rises when the door is opened and lifts the curtains off the floor. A solid brass Portiere Rod will be heavy enough to take the heavy weight of  an interlined curtain and the best choice of heading for this type of curtain is a hand French heading.

Wave Curtains

Pole Design now make curtains using the Wave Heading System patented by Silent Gliss.

These unique Wave curtains hand in cascading folds to give a contemporary look to your window. Wave curtains can only be hung fom selected Silent Gliss curtain poles that have the specially adapted Wave Glider Cord. Each glider is joined with a string to give the regimented look that is obtained by using Wave tape. Wave curtains look light and airy made up in voiles especially in a bedroom. They can be hung from Silent Gliss 3840 curtain tracks, Autoglide curtain tracks or any of the Metropole curtain poles (except 23mm). Just select your curtain pole or track and include the assitional glider cord supplement.

All of our curtains are professionally hand finished and made to a high standard. All you need to do is measure for your curtains and choose a fabric. Lightweight flowing fabrics are best. Plain designs work best or free flowing patterned designs. Two fabrics we have worked with recently are Dante and Sasso both from Sanderson. Wave curtains look their best when off the floor about 1cm. Our curtain price includes fabric, lining, all Wave tapes and hooks.

Custom Made Bay Window Poles from Silent Gliss

The best solution for a bay window pole or track suitable for a bay window can be found at Pole Design where the full range of Silent Gliss Bay Poles are available.

New corded curtain from Integra - the iPole Glyda

The new Integra iPole Glyda with Smooth Draw Technology has just been launched.

The Glyda pole combines the functionality of a track with the contemporary look of a pole and is cord operated. Glyda is available in 4 popular finishes, Brushed Silver, Burnished Brass, High Gloss Black and High Gloss White and four sizes up to 240cm in one piece. It is and easy to fit pole and it can be cut to length for an exact fit.

The cording reduces curtain handling and will keep your newly made curtains in tip top condition for longer. Glyda poles are supplied with regulatory cord weights.

Pole Design in the Press - CURTAINALIA

Pole Design Online Shop was recently featured in the March 2010 Homes and Gardens magazine. We were  asked to feature in the Homes and Gardens Shopping Section a truly versatile curtain pole from Kestrel, the Nevada in polished steel with Sphere finials. This is a great little curtain pole for lightweight curtains or voiles and is available in two sizes 120-210cm and 210-360cm and comes with neat egg shaped finials and fixings.

New Products from Silent Gliss available from end of January 2010

Pole Design will shortly be listing some great new products from Silent Gliss soon.  The 30mm corded Metropole and the 30mm hand operated Metropole 6130 will be available in a cream finish.

The 50mm 6140 Metropole will also be available as a 50mm corded curtain pole the Metropole 6160 with more finial options including the Strata finial which comes with a choice of four colours of inserted central discs or a clear  or ribbed disc. So great for a really personalised look.

The Silent Gliss Wave Heading System can be combined with some new accessories that really improve the efficiency of your Wave Curtains

• A Carrier for the Silent Gliss Draw Rods which means you don't have to try to squeeze your draw rod into an existing glider (Part 6366).

• An adjustable brake that can be combined  with the Draw Rod Carrier and helps the curtain to draw more slowly and evenly and not at 100 mph! (Part 2255)

• 6364 Extension (used with 6365) 6365 Hanger (used with 6364). Both these parts have been available for ages and have been overlooked but they do help your Wave curtains to return to the wall and  keep the curtain in the true Wave fashion in the middle rather than flapping about. If you want a really professional finish to your Wave curtains then get these parts they really finish things off neatly.
