Useful Tips - How to Measure a Bay Window for a Curtain Pole

IS YOUR BAY WINDOW DRIVING YOU ROUND THE BEND?

Measuring for a Bay Window Curtain Pole or Track  can seem daunting...... However it is not difficult if you follow these simple instructions:
Tool List:

  • Steel tape measure
  • Masking tape
  • Protractor
  • Ladder.
  • Pencil
  • · ……another pair of hands
  • Ensure your old fitting has been taken down first for best accuracy.
  • Measure at exactly the point your bay window pole will be fitted.

Make sure to:

Measure right into the corners of the bay
If you have a rounded corner, mark a point near the edge and use that for measuring. Simply start your measurements from where you would like the pole or finial to end and measure accurately between each point with your tape measure. If you are measuring on your own use masking tape to secure the end of the tape measure if you cannot hold both ends at once. Take the long measurement from one side of the bay to the other.
Remember to look closely at radiators and windowsills as you will want your curtains to hang in front if possible. Take a note of your preferred projection for your bay window pole.

Corded poles for bays over 4m may require cording both ends.

Your Silent Gliss Curtain Pole or Track will fit perfectly!
